Specialization and research interests:

- Archaeology of the Arabian Peninsula in the Umayyad and Abbasid periods, architecture and architectural decoration in particular;
- stucco architectural decoration in the art of Sasanian Persia as well as Mesopotamia and the Arabian Peninsula in the Early Islamic period;
- Christian architecture in Iraq and the Persian Gulf in the Early Islamic period;
- the iconography of Early Islamic art.

In IMOC PAS she conducts the project: The Persian Gulf in the Umayyad and Abbasid Periods as an “Artistic Region”.

 

Academic activity:

2013-2017: DPhil at the School of Archaeology, University of Oxford, thesis:
Christian Stucco Decoration in Southern Mesopotamia and the Persian Gulf Region, Sixth to Ninth Centuries

2012-2013: Master of Arts in Art and Architecture of the Islamic Middle East School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London

2010-2011: individual programme of studies at the ‘Artes Liberales’ Academy combining history of art at the Jagiellonian University and selected courses completed in the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw
