Our library has a substantial book collection regarding archaeology, mostly that of Egypt, Nubia as well as the Middle East, Cyprus, Greece and Rome. Exceptionally valuable, doubtless the largest in Poland is the collection of books concerning archaeology, arts and religion of the Ancient Egypt and Nubia. The library has acquired, among others, a large part of the private books collection of prof. Kazimierz Michałowski, the founder of the Center of Mediterranean Archaeology in PAS.
In 2006 the library joined Porozumienie Bibliotek Naukowych (Scientific Libraries Agreement). A computer catalogue in the HORIZON system is being created as a part of that agreement. Since 2009 the library has cooperated with the NUKAT central catalogue.
