The Itinera Orientalia series is devoted to former Polish travellers, pilgrims and expatriates about the widely understood Orient. Thanks to the new, bilingual, Polish-English editions enriched with critical commentaries, we want to bring the contemporary reader closer to a world different from ours, seen through the eyes of Poles. They are often insightful memories, vividly describing the realities of the time, full of topographic, historical, ethnographic and social details, often coloured with funny dictations and gossip. The publications are completed with illustrations, plans, engravings, photos, and postcards from the unique deltiological collection of the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures PAS.
