This volume is devoted to the research on ancient and early medieval cultures of Sudan. 2017 is the year of the 80th birthday of Associate Professor Stefan Jakobielski (PAS Professor) and it is our objective to celebrate the occasion with this particular issue.
The 32nd volume of Études et Travaux has been funded through the programme of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Poland entitled “Narodowy Program Rozwoju Humanistyki” in 2016-2021 (“The National Programme for the Development of the Humanities”; project no. 3bH 15 0099 83).
In accordance with the decision issued by the Prime Minister concerning the cancellation of mass events, the seminar “Women’s Day ages ago” has been cancelled. We will announce a new date for the event as soon as possible.
